The Sorting Candle, Bookmarks, and Harry Potter Day!

Hi y’ all! I know I’ve been MIA for a while, but life has been CUH-RAZY! My husband left for Army basic training this week, so I was making sure everything was sorted before he left.

SPEAKING OF SORTING. Did you happen to

ACOTAR – a rambling

So I’m halfway through Siege and Storm (and oh my goodness, I can’t wait to see what happens), but I think that Sarah J. Maas has ruined me with fictional romances, thanks to a little couple us fans loving call Feysand.

Never have I EVER read such amazing character development with a character like Feyre, let alone an entire cast of characters throughout an entire series. A Court of Mist and Fury will forever be one of my very favorite books. Besides the million things I love about Feyre and Rhysand together and separately, I don’t think I’ve become attached to so many characters at the same time. I feel Continue reading “ACOTAR – a rambling”

Book Review

Shadow and Bone Review

First of all – wow. Like, WOW.

Part of me is kicking myself for not getting these books read sooner, but then another part of me is happy that I have them all and I didn’t have to wait for each book’s release because I might have died. I already know that by the time these are finished, I’m going to hold them as high as I do the Daughter of Smoke and Bone and A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogies.

I had never read anything by Leigh Bardugo before I read this book and I’m so thrilled to have a new favorite author. She is most definitely on my buy-as-soon-as-she-releases-something list. Her writing style is engaging and Continue reading “Shadow and Bone Review”

Monsters of Verity Review

I was roaming the Bookstagram-verse about a month ago when these two books began popping up everywhere. I’m a sucker for a pretty book, and these books are just that. The story-line sounded like it was in my wheelhouse, so I had to get them.

Let me start out by saying that This Savage Song was better than Our Dark Duet. I feel like ODD had so much potential after everything that was set up in TSS, but the ball was dropped big time. Upon reading of other’s reviews on Goodreads, I learned that Schwab had an extremely hard time writing ODD and getting it finished; so much so, she tweeted about the painful process constantly. You can

Hello Lovelies!

I’ve done it – I have FINALLY committed to starting to starting a book blog! Since I’ve decided to take my bookstagram more seriously as of late, I thought it was only fitting to have a book blog to compliment it.

SO, a little about me: I’m 32 years old, I’m a sophomore at Indiana University Southeast (majoring in psychology), I’ve been married to my best friend for six years, and we have two adorable and exhausting kids together; Sam is four and Madeline is three. I’m a full-time student, so committing to a blog right now may not be the smartest idea, but I think I can handle it. Maybe.

I am super excited to share my thoughts and opinions on the greatest things in the whole wide world – BOOKS! I love how so many people can take away so many different things from the same book, and I can’t wait to talk to you about them.

If you’re reading this, please introduce yourself! Even if I already know you, let me know your favorite book(s) and what you’re currently reading! I will be posting my first review shortly, which will be the This Savage Song & Our Dark Duet duology.

Thanks for visiting my little space on the interwebs 🙂
